Wang Hui Chinese Painting Print – Layered Peaks

Layered peaks, and then more peaks — Wang Hui builds this landscape the way geology builds mountains, one stratum at a time. Ridges recede in overlapping washes, waterfalls thread the valleys, trees cluster on the slopes, and touches of color keep the whole mass from turning to pure ink. It is landscape as architecture, vast and ordered.

Wang Hui was the orthodox school's great synthesizer, and the print shows his method: each layer of peaks is drawn, washed, and set back before the next begins, creating real depth without Western perspective tricks. The waterfalls give vertical counterpoint to all that horizontality; the trees provide the human scale. Color is applied with restraint — enough to warm, never to decorate.

Large-scale landscapes like this need room to breathe — a living room wall, a spacious hallway, an office that wants gravitas. It is sold as the unmounted printed core alone, with no framing or mounting, so a wide, simple frame will serve it well. A commanding piece for collectors of Wang Hui landscapes.
